Funeral services for Ruby Edith May, age 82, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Pampa with Rev. Randy White, pastor, officiating. Burial was held at Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. May died November 25, 2000, in Amarillo. She was born April 13, 1918, in May, Oklahoma. She graduated from Spearman High School in 1936. She married J.F. May on August 29, 1936, in Stinnett. She attended West Texas State College, graduating in 1960. She was a teacher at Borger Schools and Plemmons Schools before retiring in 1975. She has been a resident of Pampa for seven years after moving from Borger. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pampa and a member of the WTSU Alumni Association.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Flint, and one half brother, Vernon Cooks.
Survivors include her husband, J.F. May of the home; two daughters, Barbara Nichols and Martha Baggerman, both of Pampa; one son, Jerry Don May of Clarendon; one half sister, Joy Mitchell of Albuquerque; one half brother, Harold Crooks of Spearman; nine grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
