Dorothy Alice Taylor died Friday, February 16, 2001, in Amarillo. She was 53.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 19, in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. James Ivey Edwards, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial was in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Taylor was born April 29, 1947, in Memphis, Texas, and was a resident of Donley County most of her life before moving to Amarillo in 1972. She married Jerry Don Taylor on June 11, 1965, at Clarendon.
She was a licensed vocational nurse and had been employed at the Palo Duro Care Center in Amarillo for the past five years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Taylor of Amarillo; two sons and daughters in law, Chad and Rochelle Taylor and Mark and Teresa Taylor all of Amarillo; one brother, Truman Richey of San Angelo; three sisters, Bobbie Floyd of Clarendon, Marie McElroy of Claude, and Jackie Clawson of Fritch; and three grandchildren, Danielle Nichol, Joshua, and Tyler all of Amarillo.
Casket bearers were Carl Williams, Vince Mays, Paul Kindle, Tex Smith, Will Orcutt, and Jim Blackerby.
The family requests memorials be made to the Citizens Cemetery Association in Clarendon.
