Funeral services for Lora Mae Moffett, age 77, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2001, in Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Rob Seale, Pastor, and Rev. Chris Downer, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Slaton, officiating. Burial was held in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Moffett died Tuesday, February 20, 2001, in Amarillo. She was born May 7, 1923, in Elmore City, Oklahoma, and moved from Oklahoma to Clarendon in 1930. She married James Clifton “Jake” Moffett on August 3, 1940, in Clarendon. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1997. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ona Mae Brogdon, on October 16, 1999.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Carroll and Alesha Gay Moffett of Panhandle; one sister, Myrtle Christine Salmon of Canyon; one step-sister Roy Bernice Pyeatt of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Casket bearers were Steve Christopherson, Doyle Hall, Steve Ellis, Jeff Anderberg, Kelly Tunnell, and Larry Davis.
