Funeral services for Thelma Bownds Parks, age 98, was held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Ingold Chapel in Fontana, California, with Rev. Dale Garland officiating. Burial was held in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. of Clarendon.

Mrs. Parks died Tuesday, February 27, 2001, in Fontana, California. She was born October 14, 1902, in Lakeview, Texas, and was a long-time resident of Hedley area before moving to Fontana, California, 16 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parks. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fontana.

Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Ruth Gage of Fontana, California; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
