Graveside services for Fredrick Keith Day, age 68, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2001, in Citizens Cemetery with Rev. Bill Hodges, Pastor of the Clarendon Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial was held in Citizen Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc.
Mr. Day was born August 6, 1932, in Camargo, Oklahoma, and had been a resident of Clarendon since 1970. He married Barbara Ellen Messerschmidt on May 26, 1983, at Clarendon. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1999. He had been a self-employed carpenter since 1962 and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Day, in 1994.
Survivors include his mother, Bertha Day of Camargo, Oklahoma; three daughters, Kathleen Brown of Camargo, OK, Renee Fouts of Waxahachie, and Tamera Burns of Pampa; a step daughter, Tonita Cox of Tulsa, OK; a brother, Sanie Day of Okeen, OK; four sisters, Peggy Wingo of Woodward, OK, Patsy Hanks of Arapaho, OK, Barbara Arnold of Woodward, OK, and Karen Haney of Elk City, OK; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Casket bearers were grandsons Greg Fish, Danny Fish, Dayson Fouts, Aaron Fouts, David Burns, John Burns, Michael Cox, Kristopher Day, and Shon Day.
