Nine CHS students brought home twelve medals and ribbons from the Canadian UIL academic practice meet on Saturday, February 9.
Carrie Helms and Valerie Taylor placed first and second in Literary Criticism with the team ranking 2nd place. Kelsey McQuien placed fifth in accounting. Claire Rodriguez and Ashlee Kidd placed first and fourth in News Writing. Tim Leeper and Cameron Word placed fifth and sixth in Computer Applications. Carrie Helms placed first in Feature Writing.
Lydia Hartman placed sixth in editorial writing. Valerie Taylor and Lacey Anderberg placed fourth and fifth in Headlines, and Lacey Anderberg placed fifth in Persuasive Speaking.
Sixteen other students competed in the meet in preparation for the spring district meet.
CHS will host that competition at Clarendon College on March 28.
