The Texas Education Association honored Clarendon Elementary and Clarendon High School last week.
Elementary was named a Distinguished Title I School. In order to be recognized as a Distinguished School, the school must meet the Exemplary standard for the 2000-2001 school year and the Exemplary or Recognized standard for the previous two years.
Clarendon High School was named an Honored Title I School. In order to receive this recognition, the school must meet the Exemplary standard for the 2000-2001 school year and the Exemplary or Recognized standard for the previous year.
Title I schools are those that have 50% or more of their student population that qualify for the federal lunch program.
