Funeral services for Loredith “Lo” Lafferty, age 83, were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2002, in Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel in Amarillo with Rev. James Edwards, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon, and Rev. Merril Abbott, retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Burial was held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors in Amarillo.
Mrs. Lafferty died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Amarillo. She moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Pampa and moved to Clarendon in 1978. She married Byrul Lafferty in 1937 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1984. She was a member of the Panhandle Boat and Ski Club in Clarendon since 1963. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Clarendon, the Donley County Senior Citizens, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Clarendon, and helped deliver Meals on Wheels in Clarendon. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Wright of San Antonio; two sons, Ray Lafferty and Robert Lafferty, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Doris Bahe of Longmont, Colorado; Imoa Danisch of Houston; and Nola May Abbot of Pampa; one brother, Richard Abbott of Pampa; seven grandchildren; 19 grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
