Funeral services for Cagle Dean Davis, age 61, of Brice were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Fairmont Baptist Church south of Quitaque with Rev. Arnold Smith officiating. Burial was held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2002, under the direction of Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque.
Mr. Davis was born October 4, 1940, at Wellington. He passed away at his home on April 15, 2002, at the age of 61 years, 6 months, and 11 days. He married Marian Rhoades on July 25, 1964, at Panhandle. He graduated from Palo Duro High School and Texas Tech University. He had served in the US Army. He was a teacher and coach. He taught at Valley Schools, Estelline, Hereford, Canyon, Memphis, and Matador. He was the sponsor for the National Honor Society at Valley Schools.
Survivors include a daughter, Jenifer Pigg of Quitaque; a son, Steve Davis of Perryton; a brother, Lindley R. Davis of Burnet; his mother, Cozette Davis of Burnet; and by three grandsons, Jacob Pigg, Jayson Pigg, and John Cagle Pigg, all of Quitaque.
Memorials may be made to the Teachers Scholarship Fund at Valley School.
