Sandra “Sandi” Keel Wallace of Brady went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2002, in Brady at the age of 58 years and 8 days.
Services were held on Sunday, April 21, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Brady and then again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2002, in the First United Methodist Church of Clarendon with burial following in Citizens Cemetery. The Reverend Sheldon Johnson and Carol Stepp conducted the service in Brady, and Bright Newhouse conducted the service in Clarendon.
Sandi was born on April 10, 1944, to L.V. and Lena (Trent) Keel in Childress. She married Glenn Wallace on July 8,1966, in Carey, Texas. She lived in Brady for the last 18 years, moving there from Clarendon in 1984. Sandi was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the Brady Chamber of Commerce, the Child Welfare Board, and was a past member of the Clarendon Jaycees. She worked as a secretary for most of her life, working for different lawyers, the Clarendon CISD, the McCulloch County District Clerk, and the McCulloch County Probation Office. Sandi was active in fund-raising for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She loved playing bridge, gardening, reading, and she especially loved her husband, children, family, and friends.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Tony Wallace of Abilene; a daughter, Jill Mays and Husband, Jeff of Brady; three sisters: Brenda Higley and her husband Tom of Amarillo, Gail Campbell of Childress, and Rita Evans and her husband Larry of Childress; six grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Jessica, Danielle, Maggie, and Will; and other family members and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
