Funeral services for Mary Louise Koetting-Williams, age 79, of White Deer were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in White Deer with Rev. Toni Bailey, pastor, officiating. Burial was held at White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Williams died October 20, 2002, in White Deer. She was born March 11, 1923, in Groom to Frank and Anna Koetting. She married Horace Allen Williams on August 1, 1942, in Abilene. He preceded her in death in 1992. She worked in the business office at Pantex during World War II. She later was a teller at the First Bank and Trust in White Deer. She then worked in the business office at Richardson’s Motor Company in White Deer. She was the business manager for Highland General Hospital in Pampa for many years. Before retiring, she became the parts manage for Williams Brothers Supply in White Deer. She was a member of the White Deer United Methodist Church, the Venado Blanca Study Club, and the Daughters of the Pioneers.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sophie Bernice Koetting in 1930; two brothers, Paul James Koetting in 1930 and William Koetting; and her parents, Frank and Anna Koetting in 1963.
Survivors include a son, Frank Allen Williams and wife Colleen of Amarillo; a daughter, Lynette Zurline and husband Steve of Gustine; a son, Dr. Donald Layne Williams and wife Katherine of Clarendon; a sister, Francis Rose Currigan and husband Tom of Fort Meyers, Florida; a brother, Edward Henry Koetting and wife Yvonne of Borger; a sister Mildred Ann Dowdy and husband Sam of St. Louis, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
