Graveside services for Charles Alexander “Bud” Wright, age 90, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in Citizens Cemetery with Reverend Bill Hodges, pastor of the Clarendon Church of The Nazarene, officiating. Burial was held in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr. Wright was born March 6, 1913, in Clarendon where he lived his entire life. He married Carman Camilla Jones on June 5, 1954 at Clarendon. Mr. Wright was a farmer and windmill repairman most of his life before his retirement, and he was a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy Wright, Thompson Wright, and Norwood Wright; and 5 sisters, Gladys Servis, Dorothy Leggett, Isabell Thornberry, Lucille Hodel, and Fannie Daugherty.
Survivors include his wife, Carman of Clarendon; one daughter; Susan Ann Wright of Abilene; one son, John Charles Sommers of Dallas; one sister, Laverne Greene of Palestine, TX; two grandsons, Scott Sommers and Nicholas Sommers, both of Dallas; and two great grandsons, Cole Sommers and Luke Sommers, both of Dallas.
