Funeral services for Nancy A. Boon, age 63, of Amarillo were held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2004, in the Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church with Randy Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial was held in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
Mrs. Boon died Wednesday, January 7, 2004. She was born March 21, 1940, in Memphis to Clarence Revell, Sr., and Pauline Nix. She married Gene Boon on July 5, 1962, in Amarillo. She was employed as a hairdresser for Cut and Curl and Dale Johns. Nancy was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was co-chairman for National Home for Children. She was also a member of Lifeway Baptist Fellowship Church, where she had a membership in the ladies group. Nancy was a prayer warrior through faith, prayers, and her concerns for other people. She witnessed and changed many lives by planting seeds of faith in others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Boon, on September 13, 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Karla Flynt of Amarillo and Carol Holden of Clarendon; a brother, Clarence Revell, Jr., of Amarillo; two sisters, Marilyn Breland of Panhandle and Carolyn Revell of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to VFW Post 7782 Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Foundation or the VFW National Children’s Home.
