James Douglas “J.D.” Riley

Funeral services for James Douglas “J.D.” Riley, age 77, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2004, in Robertson Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with Jay Riley, family member from Pampa, officiating.  Burial was held at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.

Mr. Riley was born June 24, 1926, in Seagraves, Texas.  He worked for several years at the Texaco Refinery in Amarillo, then was a cattle rancher.  He later worked for TxDOT in Memphis and then ran a Trading Post and Antique Shop in Memphis before his retirement.  He married Lola Rogers on June 30, 2000, in Amarillo.  He was a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.  He was a US Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Rogers of Amarillo; two daughters, Janice Ann Evans of Lubbock and Vickie Lynn Riley of Amarillo; one son, James Douglas Riley, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Judy Womack of Harshorne, Oklahoma; and Pauline Dean of Ceres, California; three grandchildren, Timothy Chad Brandt of Huron, Ohio; Tana Jade Williamson and Sara Lynn Rangel, both of Lubbock; two great grandchildren, Phillip Manuel Wigley and Dylan Gage Barbosa, both of Lubbock; and three step-children, JoAnn Rogers, Wanda Rogers, and Jim Rogers, all of Amarillo.
