Graveside services for Wilbur Lee McNabb, age 86, of Clarendon and formerly of Sudan, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Sudan Cemetery with family members officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Sudan.
Mr. McNabb died Monday, April 19, 2004, in Clarendon. He was born March 6, 1918, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He married Elwanda Williams in El Paso on January 23, 1943. He moved to Canadian from Water Valley in 1999. He was a long time resident of Sunday. He was a farmer and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Phebe Elane McNabb; two sisters, Ruby Nixon and Nellie Pelzer; and three brothers, Charles, Mac, and Jim McNabb.
Survivors include his wife, Elwanda S. McNabb of Clarendon; sons, Chester McNabb and wife Naomi of Bedford and Gregory McNabb and wife Teresa of Amherst; daughters, Rita Samantha Lee Davis and husband Lonnie of Clarendon, Rose Deupree and husband Joel of Buchanan Dam, and Wibalene Remick and husband Paul of Danville, Vermont; two sisters, Alma Guberman of Illinois and Jo Boyles of Sudan; sixteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
