Funeral services for Katie Taylor, age 71, were held at 2:00 p.m. on September 28, 2004, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Leonard Holt, minister of Agape Christian Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial was held in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. A committal service was held on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Taylor died Saturday, September 25, 2004, in Amarillo. She was born December 13, 1932, at Enid, Oklahoma and attended Phillips University in Enid. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1956. She married Leon Taylor on June 1, 1957, at Clovis, New Mexico. She was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Pampa Optimist Club. She was a member of the Agape Christian Church in Clarendon. Mrs. Taylor worked as a legal secretary for Judges Don Cain and Grainger McIlhaney.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Taylor of the home; two sons, Dub Taylor of Boerne and Bobby Taylor of Noblesville, Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Oklahoma City and Lois Ware of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
Memorial can be made to Agape Christian Church in Clarendon.
