Graveside services for Florene Helen Elliott, age 74, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, in Citizens Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, and Pastor Lawrence Thompson, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Elliott died Saturday, August 20, 2005, in Amarillo. She was born February 5, 1931, in Pilot Point, Texas, and married Herbert “Cowboy” Elliott on February 7, 1947, in Memphis. She was a long time resident of Clarendon, then lived several years in Amarillo before returning to Clarendon in 1997. She was a loving wife and mother, adored grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, wonderful sister, and a special friend to so many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, two brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Don Elliott and wife Susan of Amarillo and Terry Elliott and wife Debbie of Amarillo; a daughter, Helen Graham and husband Ted Graham of Clarendon; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Lewis of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Marjorie Rowe of Clarendon.
The family requests that memorials be to BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
