Funeral services for Ruth Fay Molder Mobley, age 75, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2005, in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial was held in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc.
Mrs. Mobley died Tuesday, August 2, in Amarillo. She was born August 20, 1929, in Dalhart and was raised in Donley County. She attended Lelia Lake schools and was the Lelia Lake High School salutatorian in 1947. She was a resident of Wichita Falls before moving to Amarillo in 1950. She married Luther Edward “Ed” Mobley on June 19, 1949, at Hedley. She was a homemaker and a member of a non-denominational church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends. She was a strong and independent woman who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; a son, Donald Mobley in 1982; a daughter, Pat Atkin in 2002; four brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Michael Mobley of Amarillo; two daughters, Debbie Lomax and Martha Gay Tomlinson, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Chris Lomax, Jason Atkin, Beaux Bell, Gary Mays, John Molder, and David Moss.
The family suggests that memorials be to BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
