Funeral services for Helen Mae Winkcompleck, age 68, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2005, in the First United Methodist Church in Groom with Rev. Tom Moore of Canyon, Rev. Weldon Rives, Pastor, and Rev. John Goss, Missionary, officiating. Burial will be held in Groom Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Winkcompleck died Sunday, December 4, 2005, in Groom. She was born May 5, 1937, in Dixie, Oklahoma, and was a Claude resident before moving to Groom on July 4, 1979. She married Dean Ray Winkcompleck on February 14, 1979, at Amarillo. She had worked as a cashier and retail manager at 7-11 before her retirement. She loved being a homemaker and dearly loved her family and friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Groom.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Horton, in 1973.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Winkcompleck of Groom; three daughters, Ellen Gray of Groom, Regina Manker of Moriarty, New Mexico, and Angela Goss of Indonesia; three sons, Samuel Ray Horton of Peru, Oklahoma, Douglas Horton of Osage, Oklahoma, and Jerry Winkcompleck of Amarillo; one sister, Imogene Cooper of Georgia; one brother, Wilbur Wooton of Jennings, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association, First United Methodist Church of Groom, or Groom EMS.
