Graveside services for Ruth Roberts Lewis, age 75, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2005, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Lewis died Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in Amarillo. She was born January 2, 1930, in Quanah, Texas, to W.T. and Lilla Roberts. She married Jack Lewis on June 7, 1949, at Clarendon. She was a bus driver for the Clarendon schools – JA route, a bookkeeper for the Texaco Dealership and Wayne Riggs Feed Store, and worked for Kade and Chris Matthews. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Jack of Clarendon; two sons, Steve Lewis and wife Pam of Amarillo and David Lewis and wife Jackie of Panhandle; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.
