Bob Roland of Hedley died Sunday, January 8, 2006, in Amarillo at the age of 88.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Rev. Bob Thomas, Odyssey Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial was in the Rowe Cemetery with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc.
Mr. Roland was born December 23, 1917, in Whitesboro, Texas, to James Wesley and Velma Lee Butcher Roland. He married Jessie Mae Farmer on May 24, 1941, at Durant, Okla.
Bob worked for many yeas as a rancher for three ranches. He was a resident of Hedley and Donley County most of his life. He was a member of the Hedley Lions Club and a member of the Church of Christ in Hedley.
He was preceded in death by his wife on September 1, 2002.
Survivors include one son, Bob Roland and wife Pat of Amarillo, one sister, Ethel Favor of Amarillo, eight nieces and nephews, and one granddog, Sadie Mae.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Odyssey Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.
