Funeral services for Jimmy J. Baird, age 70, of Howardwick were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006, at Briarwood Full Gospel Church of Pampa, with Rev. Gene Allen, retired Full Gospel pastor, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006, at the Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Baird died March 10, 2006, in Amarillo. He was born March 4, 1936 in Mobeetie. He had been a resident of Howardwick for ten years, moving from Pampa. He married Marietta Mitchell on December 2, 1955, in Pampa. He was plant manager for Cabot Gas Processing for 17 years, retiring from Trident Gas Processing as plant manager in 1994. He was a member of the Briarwood Full Gospel Church and was a member of the Top O’ Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF&AM of Pampa.
Survivors include his wife, Marietta Baird of the home; one daughter, Karan Swan of Pampa; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Baird of Amarillo and Jay Baird of Panhandle; one brother, H.L. “Buster” Baird of Howardwick; one sister; Barbara Bruce of Pampa; four granddaughters: Payton Baird of Amarillo, Sara Swan of Pampa, Ashby Baird and Avery Baird, both of Canyon; step-mother, Bess Baird of Dumas; two step-brothers; and one step-sister.
