Charles Leon “Chuck” Stout died Thursday, June 8, 2006 in Clarendon at the age of 61.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2006 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Stout, Rev. Scott Jones, and Rev. Mark Metzger, family members, officiating. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon. Burial followed in Citizens Cemetery.
Mr. Stout was born March 18, 1945, in Goodnight and was a resident of DeSoto before moving to Clarendon approximately 7 years ago. He had been a coach and teacher for much of his life in Clovis, NM, Muleshoe, DeSoto, Corsicana, Weimar, Clarendon, and at Clarendon College. He was a member of the Clarendon Rotary Club and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Stout was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Henry Stout, on December 11, 1986, and his mother, Jonnie Dillehay Stout, on January 3, 2006.
Survivors include two sisters, Linda Babcock and husband Kenneth of Groom, Nell Jones of Clovis, NM; and 2 brothers, Dave Stout and wife Linda of Clarendon and James E. Stout and wife Betty of San Antonio.
The family requests memorials to be to the Susan Babcock Harp Memorial Scholarship c/o WTAMU Alumni ASSN, WTAMU Box 60753, Canyon, TX 79016; or the Clarendon College Library.
