Lillian Rippetoe, 84, died July 28, 2006, at Sayre, Oklahoma.
Lillian Rippetoe was born May 1, 1922, in Tupelo, Okla., to Lilly and Charlie Blankenship. Lillian moved with her parents to the Retrop community and attended school at Star and later at Ocina, where she was an outstanding athlete. She was married to Jap Rippetoe at Sayre, Oklahoma on September 3, 1938. They made their home south of Sayre, where they raised 13 children.
Lillian loved to quilt and had made two quilts for every child. She also loved to garden and shared it with her family and friends. She was a member of the Carter Church of Christ.
Services were held Monday, July 31, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Sayre Church of Christ officiated by Matt Richardson and John Rodgers. Burial was at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Mary Jo Cavanaugh, one grandson, Shawn Rippetoe, three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include five sons, seven daughters, one sister, three brothers, and 39 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
