M.E. Bagwell Brunson, 88, died Sunday, July 30, 2006 in Claude.
Services were at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2006, in the Church of Christ in Claude with Kent Watson. Minister, officiating. Burial was in Claude Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mrs. Brunson was born May 23, 1918, in Clarendon to Martha Frances James Bagwell and Carl Rosco Bagwell. She married Warner Brunson on May 14, 1939, at Groom. She was a member of the Lé Temps Club and the American Ex Prisoner of War Organization, where she served as secretary in 1984 and 1994. She had been a resident of Claude and Armstrong County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Claude.
Mrs. Brunson is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Billy George.
She is survived by her husband, Warner of Claude; one daughter, Mariene George and husband Phillip of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Melva Miller of Spokane, WA; one grandson, Philip George II and wife Mychele of Amarillo; three great grandchildren: Garrett George, Grace George, and Gaige George all of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be to the Claude EMS, Claude Volunteer Fire Department., or to a favorite charity.
