Norman Lee Stewart, 73, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, in Amarillo, Texas.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2006, in Robertson Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with Rev. Jim Aveni, Vicar of the St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial with Air Force Honors was held in Citizens Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Mr. Stewart was born April 1, 1933, in Unionville, Missouri, to John Ray and Audrey Pearl Haines Stewart. He married Maggie Lula Morrow on November 18, 1968, in Amarillo. He served for 21 years in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1972. He moved to Clarendon in 1977 and was self-employed as a carpenter. He had been a resident of Amarillo this past year. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife on February 22, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra Lewis and husband Michael of Amarillo; one son, Jonathan Stewart and wife Crystal of Swink, Colorado; three sisters: Hazel Stewart, Mary Stewart, and Rose Karns; four grandchildren: Roger Coby Braddock, Quinton Sean Stewart, Desirae Row, and Madison Nichole Stewart; and one great grandson, Kyson Braddock.
The family requests memorials be to Veterans Administration or a favorite charity.
