Callie Nicole Brown, 23, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with Bright Newhouse, Church of Christ Minister from Clarendon, officiating. Interment was held at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon.
Miss Brown was born March 23, 1983, in Arlington, Texas to Keith and Lonitta Wells Brown. She attended Fossil Ridge High School in Forth Worth and was on the “A” Honor Roll. Her love for softball fast pitch kept her busy. She played “Select Fast Pitch”, and at age 15, she was able to practice center field with the USA Women’s Fast Pitch Team. She also went to Nationals many times with her team and had won many awards. At age 17 she attended Caprock High School in Amarillo and played on the Varsity Fast Pitch team with the highest batting average of the school in 2001. God may have called Callie home, but by donating her organs, she saved 5 people who are now considered family members.
Miss Brown was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carroll and Jean Brown, and one uncle, Steve Brown.
Survivors include her mother, Nitta Brown of Amarillo; her father, Keith Brown of Amarillo; a 3 year old daughter, Shelby Nicole Brown of Amarillo; her two beloved dogs; her grandparents, Don and Charlene Wells of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Aaron Williams of Olney, Bryan Brown of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will be at 3112 Browning in Amarillo.
