Ann Ree Porter Stuckman

Ann Ree Porter Stuckman, 83, of Savannah, Georgia, and formerly of Clarendon, Texas, wife of Lowell Randall Stuckman, died on September 17, 2007.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007, in Skidaway Island United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend James W. Giddens. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced on Friday, November 23, 2007, in Clarendon.

Mrs. Stuckman was born in Clarendon to Judge John Ralph Porter and the Jeannie Dale Powell Porter. Mrs. Stuckman was a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church and grew up in the First United Methodist Church of Clarendon. She truly lived the faith: quilting and knitting for the church and serving others with compassion everyday. She met her husband in Texas during World War II and married.  Ann graduated from Purdue University, taught elementary school for five years, and then stayed at home to rear their three daughters. She was an avid golfer who loved playing cards, gardening, and singing in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Frances “Boo” Porter Lowe and Jennie Dale Porter Landreth; and two brothers, William M. “Bill” Porter and Ralph Powell “Sonny” Porter.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Lowell Randall Stuckman of Savannah, Georgia; three daughters, Catherine J. Martin and her husband, Mark, of Glen Arbor, Michigan, Cynthia G. Hitt and her husband, Steve, of Weatherford, Texas, and Amy L. Blevins and her husband, Alan, of Savannah, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Clint Martin, Mary Westbrook, Marshall Martin, Boyd Hitt, Brooke Hitt, Carmen Castellano, and Taylor Blevins, and two great-grandchildren,  Katelyn Castellano and Mason Westbrook.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society – Suite 206, 6600 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
