Carl M. Bennett died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla. at age 79.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Tom Garmon, Pastor, and Rev. Allen Carson, officiating. Burial followed at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Carl was born January 14, 1928, in Clarendon to Carl W. and Thelma Parsons Bennett. He received his education in the Clarendon school system and graduated from Clarendon High School in 1945. He then attended Wentworth Military Academy for two years. Carl and Annese Rattan were united in marriage on February 27, 1945, in Clarendon. Carl was the Vice President at Spartan School of Aeronautics for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, Masonic Lodge, and was a Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star in Clarendon. His hobbies included golfing, boating, skiing, and hunting. He was also a pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Steven Linihan.
Survivors include his wife, Annese of Coweta, Okla.; one daughter, Helen Richardson of Coweta; three grandchildren, Keri Redman of Coweta, Brandi Trompler of Owasso, and Michael Linihan of Tulsa; six great grandchildren; and two cousins, Clyde Price and Kenneth Price.
The family requests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
