Irene Brians Mann, age 87, died March 24, 2008.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in the Clarendon Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse, Minister of the Hedley Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment was in Citizens Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Mann was born June 8, 1920, in Telephone, Texas, to Frank Everett and Emily Amanda Medlin Brians. She married Gordon V. Mann on February 28, 1937, at Childress. She was a resident of Clarendon from 1939 until moving to Lubbock a few years ago. She was the secretary at Clarendon Mfg. and Dist. Co. for 15 years before her retirement. She had been a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ since 1947.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 21, 1991; two sons, Wayne Mann on July 29, 1971 and Glenn Alan Mann on May 11, 2006; and a grandson, Scott Bobbitt on May 11, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Shirley Kay and Emmett Bobbitt of Lubbock; three grandchildren; Lisa Raney and husband Chris, and Gregg and Grant Mann; and nine great grandchildren, Kaytlin, Maggie, Reagon, Tyler, Travis, Sarah, Paul, Matt, and Jessica.
The family requests memorials be made to Citizens Cemetery Association or to the Clarendon Church of Christ Family Life Center.
David Andrew Sieg, 50, died Friday, March 21, 2008.
There will be a memorial gathering for “Big Dave” on Saturday, March 29, at 6 p.m. at the Giles Café. Everyone is welcome to come for food and friendship. If you have any questions, please call Kathy Turner at 856-5439.
Mr. Sieg was born in Salem, Oregon, to Edwin and Mary Blom Sieg. He was a long time Oregon resident before moving to Donley County approximately 6 years ago. He had worked as a store clerk.
Survivors include his father, Edwin of Lyons, Oregon; two daughters, Andrea Nicole and Marilyn Desiree of Oregon; a brother, William of Beaverton, Oregon; a sister, Susan Wells of Salem, Oregon; and his girlfriend, Kathy Turner of Giles.
