Ida Frances Turner Noble

Ida Frances Turner Noble,78, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, in Amarillo.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008, in the United Methodist Church in Claude with Rev. Janet Edwards, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Claude Cemetery in Claude. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mrs. Noble was born December 26, 1929, in Odell, to Alford and Edna Mae Wrather Turner. She married J.W. Noble on June 5, 1949, at Erick, Okla. She had been a resident of Amarillo before moving to Claude in 1979. She had been a 4th grade teacher for 22 years. She taught at River Road School District for 11 years and Claude ISD for 11 years. She raised her kids first before achieving her bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University. She was a master quilter, had a green thumb, crocheted, and loved sewing. She helped her husband with farming and ranching for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Claude.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, J.W. Noble of Claude; a son, Mark Noble of Amarillo; two daughters, Nancy McNeer, and Sharon Haffey and husband Rex all of Amarillo; a brother, Travis Turner and wife Betty of Erick, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Fern Turner of Sayre, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Noble and wife Sarah, Amy Nailling, Amber Haffey, and Steven Haffey; and one great grandchild, Jason Nailling.
