Theodore Wilson “T.W.” McAnear, 89, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008, in Amarillo.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Bright Newhouse, minister of the Hedley Church of Christ, and Rev. Lance Wood, Pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
T.W. was born August 14, 1919, in Clarksville to Fed and Virgie Mary Ringwald McAnear. He married Dorisene Ray on May 16, 1942, in Memphis. T.W. was a lifelong resident of Clarendon. He had served on the Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association for many years and also served on the Community Center Board. He never met a stranger and loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; a grandson, Mark McAnear and a great grandson, Grady Henson.
Survivors include his wife, Dorisene of Clarendon; a son, Don McAnear of Canyon; two daughters, Susan Henson and husband Wes of Clarendon and Deanna McCleskey of Denton; five grandchildren, Kim Choate of Bridgeport, Lisa Davis of Denton, Brandon McCleskey of Denton, Jeffrey Henson of Clarendon, and Suzzette Williams of Frisco; and numerous great grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Clarendon or Citizens Cemetery Association.
