Paul James Baker, 64, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, in Hedley.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the First Baptist Church in Hedley with Rev. Bruce Howard, Pastor, and Jeremy Strain, officiating. Burial followed in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Paul was born April 22, 1944 in Wellington to Creed Robert and Callie Jane Eddings Baker. He married Ricki Rowell on December 4, 1987, in Wellington. He had been resident of Wellington before moving to Hedley 12 years ago. He was a hard working man and he took great pride in being a professional concrete contractor. He took great pride in everything he did. He was great musician and dancer. He loved his kids and grandkids and had a loving and giving heart for his family. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Ricki of Hedley; four sons, James Baker and wife Linda and Kelly Harmon and wife Cheryl all of Amarillo, Tommy Baker and wife Beth of Fort Worth, and Morgan Harmon of Hedley; three
daughters, Lisa Baker of Lubbock, Karon Harmon and Gini Neeley both of Pampa; four brothers, Robert Baker and wife Carolyn of North Carolina, Don Baker of Sulphur Springs, Maxie Baker and wife Judy of
Childress, and Ronnie Baker and wife Peggy of Bowie; three sisters, Callie Jo Stephens of Hedley, Peggy Jane Hook of Amarillo, and Rosie Wright and husband Doug of Hedley; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.
The family request memorials be to Hedley Sr. Citizens, Hedley Vol. Fire Dept., or Rowe Cemetery Association.
