Edith Dorine Conatser, 86, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Amarillo.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley with Don Stone, Church of Christ Minister, officiating. Burial was held at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mrs. Conatser was born December 26, 1922, in San Saba, Texas, to Andrew and Ella Hopkins Word. She married John Anderson “Johnny” Conatser on January 7, 1948, in Pampa. She had been a resident of Hedley since 1960. She was an avid fan and supporter of the Hedley Senior Citizens. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchild with all of her heart. She loved visiting with friends and family. She cared for her flowers and loved caring for her chickens. She was also very talented and made coat hangers for many people. She loved to travel and loved the mountains. She was a member of the Hedley Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on September 7, 2002; her parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include her son, John L. Conatser and wife Diane of Memphis; three grandchildren, Jason Conatser of Hedley, Bradley Conatser of Phoenix, AZ, and Skyler Conatser of Memphis; and a great grandchild, Jaycee Conatser of Geronimo, Oklahoma.
The family requests memorials be to BSA Hospice of Amarillo, Rowe Cemetery Association, or the Hedley Senior Citizens.
