Frankey Eva “Evaline” Burleson, 86, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Clarendon.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in the First Assembly of God in Clarendon with Rev. Chris Ford, Associate Pastor, and C.W. Parker, Odyssey Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment followed at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Frankey Eva “Evaline“ Gober Burleson was born daughter of Ernest P. and Clora Woodall Gober in Gatesville, Texas on September 29, 1923. She married Leslie James “Lee” Burleson, Sr. on August 26, 1941, in Gatesville. In their union three children were born and she was a housewife and homemaker. She very much enjoyed reading her Bible and Bible lessons. Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, working with her flowers when she was able and made each of her children a multi color crocheted afghan. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 14, 1983; a son, Elmer Lee Burleson on December 11, 2009; a daughter, Leta Mae Anders on April 9, 2007; a grandson, Mike Anders in March 2008; a great grandson, Mason Burleson; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, James Burleson and wife Bea of Clarendon; a daughter in law, Karin Burleson; two sisters, Jeri Criswell of El Mott, and Cena Ellen Smith and husband Jessie of McGregor; seven grandchildren, Ron Burleson, Doug Burleson, Tim Burleson, Rea Burleson and wife Azar, Carmen Smith, Charles and Diana Anders; six great grandchildren, Christopher, Victor, Braydon, Hannah, Arvin, and Tyler; and two great great grandchildren.
The family will be at 701 East Burkhead.
The family request memorials be to the Community Care Center of Clarendon, Odyssey Hospice, Citizens Cemetery Association, or the First Assembly of God in Clarendon.
