The Lady Broncos used a lot of determination and intensity to send Highland Park packing Tuesday night.
Playing in their home gym, the ladies stopped everything the Lady Hornets tried and defeated them, 54-38.
Highland Park opened the game with an advantage, but the Lady Broncos worked through their struggles to lead by three points at the break.
A huge third quarter worked in Clarendon’s favor and they were able to put the game out of reach in the early part of the final period. Lydia Howard led the Lady Bronco on the scoreboard with 14 points, but the scoring was spread fairly evenly through the team.
“The girls played much harder this game,” head coach Molly Weatherred said. “I really fell they competed from start to finish.”
Scoring: Howard 14, Anna Ceniceros 9, Marqueda Gaines 8, Jency Burton 6, Jentry Shadle 4, Danielle Ford 4, Trevela Dronzek 4, Cheyenne Kosechata 3, and Emily Clark 2.
The Lady Broncos will play at Paducah November 30 and participate in the River Road Tournament December 2-4.
