Chilling symbol April 13, 2011 by Roger Estlack Leave a Comment One hundred and eighty-four shoes are hanging in front of City Hall this week, one for every child who died from child abuse in Texas last year. The Donley County Child Welfare Board prepared the display as a way to call raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month during April. Next year the display will include a shoe for four-year-old Chance Jones of Clarendon, who died January 5, 2011, after suffering severe physical abuse. His father, Robert Babcock , remains in the Donley County Jail, charged with capital murder. Enterprise Photo / Roger Estlack
