A single vehicle accident claimed the life of a Houston man on May 25 east of Lelia Lake.
At 8:00 a.m., 62-year-old Ramon Holloway was on his cell phone while driving his 2005 Chevy pickup on Hwy 287 by mile marker 184. He drove into the center median and hit the culvert, which caused his truck to flip end over end before landing on its top.
Holloway was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital, and then taken to Lubbock. He passed away on May 27. He was wearing his seatbelt.
Those who responded included Sergeant Chris Ward, troopers Kellan Roberts and Gary Davis, the Donley County Sheriff’s Office, Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Department of Transportation and Highway Patrol.
