Wilson Lee Stephens, 92, died Sunday, December 25, 2011, in Wellington.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in Bowie Street Church of Christ in Wellington with Don Stone & Bright Newhouse, officiating. Burial followed at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mr. Stephens was born March 1, 1919, in Roby to John Henry and Minnie Mae Stephens. He married Zora Baker on July 4, 1946, in Memphis. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Army. He had been a resident of Hedley and loved to play dominoes at the Hedley Sr. Citizens every day. He also loved to fish. He was a farmer and also worked for Donley County for several years. He was a member of the Hedley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, on October 15, 2008; a son, Roy Lee Stephens; a grandson, Neal Wade Duncan; five brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by two sons, Coy Stephens and wife Ellen of Fritch, and Henry Stephens and wife Nancy of Hedley; two daughters, Barbara Duncan and husband Herbert, and Pattie Gilbert and husband Bill all of Wellington; a sister, Donnie Mae Selby of Hedley; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
