Peggy Lee Baird, 78, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, in Clarendon.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2012, in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Clarendon, with Rev. Lance Wood, Pastor, officiating. Services were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Peggy was born March 12, 1933, in Kashetta, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Edward Lee and Thelma Marie Clements and Willie Mae and Arthur Gunter. She was a resident of Clarendon for about five months moving from Lampasas, Texas. Peggy was a homemaker and was Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Bailey Baird, on Nov. 17, 1997; her son, Wylie Curtis Miller; three brothers, Butch Woods, Harvey Rush Clements, and John Douglas Clements; and her sister, Mary Ann Croxton.
She is survived by her son, David Miller and wife Theresa of Centre, AL; her daughter, P.J. O’Keefe and husband Shaun, of Clarendon; brother, Edward Lee Clements, Jr; two sisters, Linda Gay Futrell and Cora Sue Broyles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be to the Angel Tree.
