The Hedley High School and Junior High track athletes competed at Groom on Saturday the March 9.
High school girls placing this track meet were: Laura Ketzer 3rd in the 400 meter dash, Luz Lizzarro 3rd in the 800 meter run, and Bailey Wood 4th in the 800 meter run, Salem Shelp placed 3rd in the shot put, the 4×200 relay consisting of Wood, Ketzer, Luzzarro, and Kristen Liner placed 4th.
In the high school boys’ division, Nicco Bennett placed 6th in the 100 meter dash, and 4th in the 200 meter dash. Iago Alvarez placed 4th in the 800 meter run, and Tanner Chambless placed 5th in the shot put.
To finish out their events, Bennett, Chambless, Alvarez, and Bryan Evans placed 3rd in the 4×400 relay.
Various junior high students placing were: Brylie Chadwick placed 3rd in the shot, and Kylie Wood placed 5th in the 800 meter run, with Wood, Chadwick, Bailey Carroll, and Cheyenne Smith place 6th in the 4×200 relay.
Hedley Junior High boys placing were: Clay King 6th in the 200 meter hurdles, and the relay team of King, Klaiton Moore, Frank Ramirez, and Kenrick Addington placed 6th in the 4×100 relay, and 4th in the 4x 200 relay.
