John Earl “Buddy” Ryan, JR

John Earl “Buddy” Ryan, JR, 86, died Monday, November 26, 2012, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Clarendon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Buddy was born June 7, 1926, at his family ranch near Jericho. He moved to Clarendon when he was five years old and finished his school years there in 1943. He joined the US Navy in 1944. He served in the Armed Guards for 2 years. He was on a ship that carried B-29 fuel to Sipan. Buddy married Beverly Wellman on August 31, 1950, in Hobbs, NM. He received four commendations; the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Silver Cross, and the Medal of Honor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two sisters, Dorothy and Jerry.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Ryan, of Wichita Falls; his son, John and wife Jean; his daughter, Donna Sue; his grandson, Justin Taylor & Millisent; and two sisters, Ruzell Hillis and Kay Mickleson.
