The Lady Broncos took on Booker in a district game at home last Tuesday and easily defeated them 11-1.
Jency Burton was on the mound and Audrey Shelton was behind the plate.
The Lady Broncos capitalized on a huge first inning scoring six runs and shut out Booker until the third. Clarendon added four more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to give the ladies the win in only five innings.
On Saturday, the Lady Broncos posted another big district win when they easily handled West Texas High 21-12.
The Lady Broncos trailed WT after the first inning but stormed back in the second to take a two-run lead. Clarendon posted a shutout for the third and fourth innings to secure their win.
According to head coach Gary Jack, the ladies are hitting the ball extremely well.
“Maci White continues to pound the ball and Haley Ferguson has hit well the last two games,” Jack said. “Skyler White, Jency Burton, Audrey Shelton, Jentry Shadle, and Taylor Gaines are all hitting the ball well, and Jency hit a homerun in the WT game.”
Jack credits their wins with great defense.
“Our defense has been solid and we are improving each game,” Jack said. “Haley, Maci, and Sterling King have all had very good defensive games.”
The Lady Broncos will take on McLean at noon on Friday, March 30, at home. They will play Follett at home on Monday, April 1, at 4:00 p.m.
