Ruth Nelson Just, 87, died Friday, November 22, 2013, in Pampa, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Patrick Robertson officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Burial followed at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Ruth was born, and delivered at her home by her Grandmother, on September 17, 1926, in Red River County, Texas, to Thomas Arthur and Pernecia Elizabeth Lovell Nelson. Ruth spent her early childhood in Honey Grove, Texas before moving to the Clarendon area when she was 10 years old. She attended grade school in Ashtola and went to high school in Clarendon. She married John F. Just on January 1, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas. Ruth devoted her entire life to being a Wife, Military Spouse for 22 years, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, soon to be Great-Great-Grandmother and Aunt to so many. Ruth worked as a Nurses’ Aide for many years in the Clarendon Nursing Homes and spent much of her spare time tending to those folks’ needs on her time off. After the death of her husband, Ruth moved to Pampa to live with her daughter Ella in 1989. Ruth was a member of the Martin Baptist Church.
The Family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff from Encompass, Coronado Nursing Center, and Pampa Regional Hospital for the love and care that they gave Ruth while under their care. Although all cannot be individually named, they know who they are and each and every one have earned a well-deserved thanks and a special place in the hearts of Ruth’s family.
She was proceed in death by her father, Thomas Arthur Nelson on August 19, 1972; her mother, Pernecia Elizabeth Lovell Nelson on March 28, 1982; her husband, John F. Just on October 11, 1988; 3 brothers, T.A., Grady Lee, and Roy Howell Nelson; and a granddaughter, Janella Marie Just.
She is survived by 2 sons, Frankie Karl Just and wife Debi of Fairplay, Colorado, Johnny Arthur Just and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a daughter, Ella Beth Just Dunn and husband Harvie of Pampa; 5 grandchildren, Alesha Dawn Just Hawkins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Amanda Leann Just of Fairplay, Colorado, Jaimie Just Weihermueller and Chelsea Just Merideth of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, James Arthur Dunn of Irving, Texas; 9 great grandchildren, Dylan Lee Garrard of Fairplay, Colorado, Ashley Dawn Garrard of Borger, Texas, Zachary Aaron Garrard of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lincoln Mills, Luke Mills, and Frankie Just of Fairplay, Colorado, Philipp James Weihermueller, Sophia Isabelle Weihermueller, and Marek Diane Merideth of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law Esther Just of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and 2 close friends whom are considered family, Pat McAnear and family, and Teresa Sanchez and Family.
The family suggests that memorials be to Breast Cancer or Parkinson’s research
