Geraldine Elizabeth Land

Geraldine Elizabeth “Grannie” Land, 88, died Friday, August 22, 2014, in Weatherford, Okla.

Services were held Thursday, August 28, 2014, in the Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Rev. Bobby Ellerbrook and Rev. Darrell Burton, officiating.

Burial followed at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley.

Arrangements were under the direction Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Geraldine was born September 13, 1925, in Baltimore, Maryland to Herbert and Lydia Shank McAllister. She married Jiggs Land on August 16, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. She had been a resident of Donley County since 1971. She was the cafeteria supervisor at Clarendon CISD for 21 years from 1972-1993. She loved working in the yard and gardening. She was an excellent cook and was great at canning. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; several brothers and sisters; and a great grandson, Timmy McKinney.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Masters of Weatherford, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Gina McKinney and husband Lynn of Clarendon, Shannon Berg and husband Damien of Johnstown, Colorado, and Ron Ring of Weatherford, Oklahoma; 5 great grandchildren, Mandy McKinney, Madison Schwartz, Devin Ring, Levi & Shelby Scrivner; 4 great great grandchildren, Jesse & Nolan Burrow, Zackary McKinney, and Ayden Schwartz.
