Henry Clark “Buster” Shields, 72, died Monday, October 27, 2014, in Amarillo.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Rev. Bruce Howard, officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Buster was born September 26, 1942, in Clayton, New Mexico to H.H. and Susie Leroy Shields. He married Jerri Ann Sursa on December 16, 1976, in Panhandle. He had been a resident of Donley County most of his life. He had been a member of the Stinnett and Hedley Lions Clubs. He was also a volunteer fireman, served as Mayor of Stinnett, and served as a Commissioner for Donley County. He had worked in the oil field prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hedley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Becky King.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri Ann Shields of Lelia Lake; 3 sons, Johnny Shields of Skellytown, Scott Lewis of Memphis, and Gary Lewis of Clarendon; a daughter, Theresa Nance of Highland Village; a sister, Patty Lemons of Clarendon; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be to BSA Hospice.
