Della Mildred Sanders, 94, died June 29, 2015, in Midland.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 2, at 2:00p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Kermit, Tex. Pastor Elinor Ruth Fowler officiating.
Private internment at Suggs Cemetery, Hearne, Tex.
Della Sanders was born on January 18, 1921, in Winters, Texas the fourth of six children of Robert and Floy Pearl Brewer.
She married Erwin Nunley on October 8, 1938, in Stanton, Texas. Together, they moved to Kermit, Texas and had a son, Darwin Nunley, on April 6, 1950. They moved to Hearne, Tex. in 1976.
After her first husband passed away, Della married James “Jim” Sanders on March 21, 1983, in Hearne, Tex. They moved back to Kermit, Texas in 1983 and Della lived there the remainder of her life.
Della often worked as a bank teller, both in Kermit and Hearne. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with friends on the telephone and solving crosswords. She always drove her cute little Mercury cars to the beauty salon every Thursday to get her hair done. Della often met friends at Jerrieās Cafe and the Huddle House for meals. She was a lady in all circumstances and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, a son, and her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jo Jan Nunley and two grandsons, Patrick Nunley and Spencer Nunley and great granddaughter, Maggie, all of Canyon; a granddaughter, Scarlet Estlack and husband, Russell, and great grandsons Nathan and Daniel of Clarendon; a stepdaughter, Sandy Emmerson and husband Mike of Kermit, Tex.; two step grandchildren, Lacey Bavousett and husband Brian and Mycah Glover and husband Matt and step great-granddaughter Emily, all of Midland; and two nieces, Marilyn Jo Smith and Arvella Wade.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Suggs Cemetery Association in Hearne, Tex. or the Education Ministry of One Hope Church of Christ in Midland, Tex.
