Phyllis O’Keefe, 83, of Clarendon, died February 12, 2016, in Clarendon.Memorial graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarendon, with Rev. Arokia Raj Samala, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Clarendon, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. O’Keefe was born September 30, 1932, in West Jersey, Illinois to Curtis Lorenzo and Ethel Mae Chamberlain Thompson. She married Robert Thomas O’Keefe on October 10, 1953, in Washington, DC. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1992. She was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and was a secretary at Fort Hood, Texas for five years. She had been a resident of Clarendon since July of 2010, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Kelly of Lubbock and Kathy Reighard of Castroville, California; three sons, Bobby O’Keefe of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tommy O’Keefe of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Shaun O’Keefe of Clarendon; a sister, Ruth Lampson of Galesburg, Illinois; a brother, Dean Thompson of Toulon, Illinois; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
