Jeanie P. “Nana” Johnson of Dodd City, Texas, passed away on April 10, 2016, at the age of 79.
Jeanie is survived by a daughter, Jaci Garner and husband Bill of Dodd City; a son, Monte Johnson of Burleson; a brother, Billy Carl Pittman and wife Vivian of San Antonio and a sister Judy Burlin of Clarendon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Cowboy” Johnson, her parents Carl and Roberta Pittman, a sister Patricia Jordan and a brother Keith Pittman.
Jeanie was also known as “Nana” and is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Brandi and daughter Kasi Holcomb of Dodd City, Sky and Kristina Holcomb and children Thomas, Hannah, Maddie, Joshua, Jeri and Destiny of Dimmitt, Joshua Johnson and daughter Sayd of Burleson, her step-grandchildren Shawn Garner and children Dustin, Jennifer, McCade and, Logan Kevin and Amy Garner and children Harlee and Daxton, Shelly Garner and daughter Jaycie, K’wyn and Josh Lawson and children Codee and Colton. She is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanie graduated from Clarendon High School in 1954. She married Roy “Cowboy” Johnson on August 15, 1954, in Amarillo and was blessed to be married for 61 years. She spent most of her time as a homemaker and later became a book keeper in Dimitt. Jeanie was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Lady Bug Bridge Club. She was active in various school activities, a Camp Fire leader, Boy Scout leader, and a sponsor for 4-H Horse Clubs. Jeanie was a Christian woman that was dedicated to God, family and her friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she had served as a song leader and a Sunday School teacher.
A private family burial will be held at the Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Visitation afterwards will be held at the Senior Citizen’s Center located at 115 E. 4th in Clarendon. Condolences to the family can be mailed to 3467 FM 897, Dodd City, Texas 75438.
