Geneva Catherine Hill, 73, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, in Clarendon.
Rosary was said on Monday, May 9, 2016, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon. Mass was celebrated on Tuesday in the Church with Rev. Arokia Raj Samala, as the celebrant.
Burial followed St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Geneva was born March 19, 1943, in Newlin to Guy William and Evelyn Tobin Murphy. She married Billy R. Hill, Sr. on April 23, 1985, in Clarendon. She had been a resident of Clarendon most of her life. She had worked for several years at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene as the assistant to the athletic director, John Morrow Drilling in Clarendon, and for Dr. Dehyle at the Clarendon Vet Hospital prior to her retirement. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy R. Hill, Jr.; a daughter, Theresa Cummins; 2 brothers, Guy and Robert; and 3 sisters, Susie, Frances, and Norma.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Hill of Clarendon; a son, Dennis Hill and wife Lori of Dallas; a daughter, Melissa McClain and husband Danny of Amarillo; 3 sisters, Ellen Cooley of Amarillo, Nadine Cortner of Overland Park, Kansas, and Velma Byrd of Clarendon; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
